Expect a warm welcome from John Holder in his family home bed and breakfast in the centre of Winchester. A B&B for fifteen years with lovely quiet rooms and a peaceful location just minutes from all the best that this most beautiful and historic city has to offer. John’s breakfasts make a wonderful start to your day.

A great place to stay if you are working in Winchester, visiting friends or relatives, coming to party or for a wedding or conference. The ideal spot for visitors touring England (with private parking, near the coach stop and railway station).

Our best room has an outstanding view of ruined Wolvesey Castle.

John can advise you on what to see and do as well as where to eat and drink.  Wolvesey View B&B Winchester is the perfect place to enjoy exploring on foot, Just a short walk away are the river Itchen, the cathedral, great pubs and restaurants, museums, shops and walks, including the South Downs Way.

The house used to belong to the great English actor Sir Alec Guinness. Today the house is shared by John and his two very friendly cats.

Located at the centre of Hampshire the B&B is a great spot for fans of Downton Abbey, Jane Austen, or King Arthur and you can easily visit a Titanic exhibition at Southampton, Nelson’s Victory at Portsmouth, or Stonehenge from Salisbury, not far away.

Over the last ten years John has welcomed some very special guests and friends who have stayed with him for weeks, and in some cases for months. When this happens John shares his kitchen, the guest can keep food in the fridge and cook.
